Really enjoyed my dinner. Most bands don't start their first set until after 10PM.

Once the parking lots are full, you are out of luck until next time. This beach has been popular for a very long time but is slowing down the last few years and loosing its draw as Asbury Park continues to draw ever-larger crowds. But that has not stopped the gays, who hang out between South Voodoo Tree and the creek by Sunset Beach. Sandy Hook is a national park, and also home to the first ever twin lighthouses.

Our beach house is conveniently located in downtown Highlands, one block from the water and on a street lined with waterfront dining, lively bars and marinas. We absolutely loved our stay in Highlands at this house. It was perfect for what we needed. My husband and I wanted to get away with our dog and 5 month old and wanted our friends and their 10 month old to join us. The fenced in backyard was perfect for the dog and the kids. It was on the cutest street with other beautiful homes. We were able to eat dinner out on the water at one of them. At the end of the road there was a small bay beach which was very cute. In the other direction there was a playground on the water, more places to eat and a great ice cream place. Getting to the beach was the quickest and easiest trip... It was under 5 minutes to Sandy Hook by car. We went in the mornings on the bay side where dogs are allowed for morning walks and then to the beach side during the day. Thank you so much Jeff for sharing your home with us. It was perfect for what we needed and we hope to be back next year!!

Most of the Sandy Hook Bars offer live music performed by popular local bands, pleasant exotic cocktails as well as menus filled with appetizing snacks, sandwiches and salads. Most establishments are either on the water or near enough to tout a great view of either the ocean or river. Only time will tell. Even their to-go containers are top of the line. My husband and I wanted to get away with our dog and 5 month old and wanted our friends and their 10 month old to file us. There are no boardwalks near Sandy Hook and only two small refreshment stands far from the water bars near sandy hook nj available. We absolutely loved our stay in Highlands at this house. At the end of the road there was a small bay beach which was very cute. Sin to the beach was the quickest and easiest trip.
